**JOB FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES**


The Sales job family merchandises, promotes and sells the company's products and services to customers. General areas of responsibility include developing and implementing sales strategies; identifying potential customers; managing existing customer and vendor relationships; and monitoring customer and competitor activity and industry trends. Positions in the counter are responsible for promoting and selling the organization's products and services in a retail store.


**AREAS OF IMPACT:**


Plans and establishes operational objectives for a team of support personnel within a clearly defined job area. Delivers operational results that have moderate impact on the achievement of departmental results. Assigns tasks to a team to achieve operational targets, service standards, etc. Typically does not have budget or profit and loss accountability, but may manage day-to-day elements of the budget (e.g., overtime for staff).


**PROBLEM SOLVING:**


Responsible for making adjustments or recommended enhancements in systems and processes to solve problems or improve effectiveness of job area. Problems and issues faced are general, and may require understanding of broader set of issues. Problems may require understanding of other job areas. Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experiences, with analysis of the issue. May escalate complex problems to higher levels of management as appropriate.


**JOB DUTIES:**


Manages the overall operation of a wholesale and retail counter including hiring, discipline, and scheduling of employees to ensure cost effective and quality counter operations.


Monitors the merchandising, organization and appearance of the wholesale and retail counter.


Effectively and professionally resolves escalated complaints regarding products, wholesale and retail purchases and customer service.


Approves volume discounts and pricing adjustments and resolves pricing discrepancies with customers.


Trains associates on product specifications, merchandising, counter organization and wholesale and retail sales.


Develops new wholesale and retail customers through direct advertising and promotional campaigns.


Participates in leadership meetings and represents operational concerns, policies and guidelines to the management team.


Conducts regular associate meetings.


Represents the organization to customers, associates and leadership as needed.


Performs all work in accordance with established safety standards and adheres to all safety policies, rules, regulations and procedures.


Participates in associate meetings and communicates any concerns to management.
