Payroll Administrator
Accountemps is currently seeking a Payroll Administrator to work in the Spokane Valley, WA area. This position is an opportunity for career growth on a dedicated and passionate team. The Payroll Administrator will process payroll, and should have proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. In addition, if you possess excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, this may be the right job for you!
Responsibilities:
- Review source documents with necessary verification
- Supporting all internal and external audits related to payroll
- Manage issues related to employee deductions and other liabilities, including reconciling
- Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
- Maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
- Produce reports after compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
- Maintaining employee confidence and protecting payroll operations by keeping information confidential
- Updating payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers
- Calculate employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to determine payroll liabilities
- Guarantee company compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines


- Prior experience working with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
- Relevant experience of 2+ years in payroll
- Expertise with internal controls
- Outstanding data entry skills
- Well-informed in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
- Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
- Previous experience using accounting software
- Certified Payroll Professional will be given preference
- Expertise in federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
- Strong familiarity with payroll systems for 100-500 employees
- Foundational knowledge in in-house payroll
- Experience with manual payroll
- Microsoft Excel experience desired
